I got this cool scrap-metal sculpture of Boba Fett at a flee market in Chatuchak, in Bangkok, for 1,000 baht.

Super Cars in Bangkok

I visited Bangkok last weekend and I did see some really, really nice rides over there, in the third floor of Siam Paragon and on the streets.

From top: a Mini Cooper in the wild; Lotus; Audi coupe; the 27-million baht Lamborghini MurciƩlago; Porsche Cayman; Bentley Continental; Maserati Quattroporte; BMW 325i convertible

PS3 Controller Gets a Keypad

The Sixaxis or DualShock 3 controller for PS3 gets a wireless keypad attachment, ostensibly for easier messaging and text input, especially when browsing.

I think I'd get one of these.

WoW Account Unfairly Closed

I got this email from World of Warcraft today:

"This is a notification regarding the World of Warcraft account ******. Access to this account has been permanently disabled for exploitation of the World of Warcraft economy or for being associated to accounts which have been closed for intended exploitation. While we try to be as lenient as possible in our assessments of the results of exploitation investigations, exploitative endeavors on your accounts have ultimately lead to their closure. The recurring subscription on the account has been disabled to prevent further charges."

This is totally weird and unfair. I stopped playing since May, and although I have the intentions of playing again sometime in the future, I deleted my credit card info in my account, so it's been inactive for almost three months now.

I really can't understand why my account got closed. I don't farm, sell gold or use bots or even utilize modded UIs. It may have been hacked but I suspect that some people in my guild or buddy list have violated the TOS and I got penalized too.

Is this guilty by association?

Beating a (Dead) Stormtrooper

The Stars Wars franchise has been dying since Phantom Menace (not financially, but artistically), and the latest money-making scheme of George Lucas - a monstrosity called Clone Wars, is the final nail in the coffin.

Really, can't you guys just leave Anakin alone well enough? It bad enough that Spielberg has nuked the fridge in Indiana Jones. Now this.

Fake Fireworks

The fireworks shown on TV during the opening ceremonies of the Beijing Olympics seemed to have been computer-generated.

Forum on Bangsamoro Homeland MOA

There would be a forum on the Bangsamoro Homeland Memorandum of Agreement, the stab-in-the-back agreement that the government is trying to shove down our throats - and sell the Christians of Mindanao to the dogs.

The forum, sponsored by UP Jambangan and the office of Representatives Climaco and Fabian (of Zamboanga), will be held on August 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the 1st floor of UP Law Center at UP Diliman campus.

iPod Apps

I've been busy downloading apps for my iPod Touch from the iTunes store. There are plenty of nifty programs - free and otherwise.

I bought just one game, Cro-Mag, a 3D racing game, for only $5.99.

iTunes Apps Store is now in the Philippines

Apple's iTunes Apps store is now available in the Philippines! You can now get programs, games and utilities for your iPod Touch and iPhone from it. An iTunes account is required, but setting it up is a breeze, and iTunes must be version 7.7 to be able to download the apps.
